Interior trim questions.

Hey guys,

New to the forum, thanks for having me!

Im going to check out a couple G37s coupes today and had a question. One of the vehicles Im strongly considering has the wood trim applied throughout the cabin. While it looks good and is very luxurious, I am more partial to the sport look of the brushed trim.

Here are my questions.

1. Is this trim OEM and a factory product or 3rd party vendor?

2. How difficult is it to remove/replace. I assumed it was just adhesive overlay on top of the original trim.

I know some will say find the car with the features you want, but I have an opportunity to grab this car at a very good price.

I actually really like the trim, just not used to wood in the sport coupes, the exterior is IP btw.

yeah, Infiniti doesn't have a wood trim like that.

Tell the dealer you'll buy the car but they would have to remove the trim first. That should save you the trouble.

That is actually a GREAT suggestion. This way if any of the underlying pieces are compromised in the removal thats their problem.

Infiniti only had one option for wood trim and i believe it was a replacement to the aluminum.. not an overlay like the picture suggests. you should have no problem in wanting a factory option to come with the car.

Update: After 3 hours of brutal negotiations and my white *** literally out the door. I made the wood removal a mandatory fix and am now the proud owner of a new G37S. I'll start a new thread, just wanted to say thanks!

I was about to say the same thing. Wood grain trim with gray doesn't look right.

odd that a brand new car would have aftermarket mods (which is what is shown in the photo) like that. wonder why the dealer put that stuff on in the first place. the factory original wood trim is pretty nice.

My guess is it was a lease or sale and the original owner couldn't get wood and added that after market crap.

It was a lease return. I purchased the car pre owned. It looks like the kit you can find on ebay.
