5AT vs 7AT
Hey Guys,
I'm sure this has been brought up many times but I'm new to the game.. Is it worth paying extra for the 09 G37 vs the 08? I'm looking at getting the Journey coupe, hopefully w/ no more than 40k miles. I know someone who has Manheim access so I'm looking to not spend more than $28k

I drove 5AT X sedan and 7AT X coupe now, difference to me is just fuel economy on 7AT. Considering bad mpg I am getting on this car, I would prefer to stay on 7AT.

I think 7AT will give you better MPG but 5AT is smoother and not as harsh / jerky when it comes to shifting. I have had a few loaners with 7AT and noticed that shifts aren't as smooth.
If you're interested, I have a 2008 with 5AT, currently under 28K miles. I would probably sell within your ballpark.

^^^^correct. If your question comes down to PRICE, the 7AT is DEF not worth the extra cash. The 5AT is a quicker/smoother shift, and the only perk to the 7AT is the fuel economy since you can stay in lower rpms more often(for a sports car...not always a good thing)

Yep I bought my car in December for 26500, 22k miles. It's not just timing but you have to haggle. The door sticker was 31500k.
