Scoe11,

That's a real nice job you did. It really came out great. What do you think about the durability of the DI-NOC?

Thanks everyone for the compliments! As far as durability, I don't think anything would be more so. You don't have to worry about scratches being matte. It's also waterproof and stain resistant. Infiniti should definitely consider using it in place of the fragile aluminum. It looks great and you don't have to take your watch off before getting in the car!

Below is a snapshot of the console in the car. The missing piece I left upstairs. I gotta put it in later.

Just so you know, the aluminum strip on your stock shifter will scratch easy, so it may be in your best interests to remove it anyway.

Can you send me one too? I might do something similar.

So i wound up doing the climate / radio cluster trim as well as the small trim piece below it. My only gripe, as you can see from the photos, is that the lines on the lower piece don't match-up with the top trim. Even though it doesn't look funky, I'll likely redo it and try laying the film on as is to match it up and then pop it off and wrap it.

OK, so how crazy would it be to do this on all the trim pieces? I'd like to do do the doors because the washi scratches so easily, but we'd need a pretty long piece of this stuff.

Also, how is the adhesive? Easy to take off, or do you need to heat it up with a blow dryer to take it off?

The Shodo trim scratches easily as well. I would consider the long trim piece on the doors but the door panel has to come off. Not sure if I want to do this. About the 3M self-stick ... one caveat is that it has a tendency to lift when the car has been parked in the heat. Because of this, you need to make sure the wrap is tight and flat on the back of the trim as well. You need to be as precise in flattening the non-visible areas as the visible areas. Once you have the wrap flat, the interlocking between the console pieces and trim when reassembled should prevent it from lifting. I had to remove the pieces and "tidy up" some of the nooks along the edged that lifted in the heat yesterday. For the next few days I'm planning to park in the shade until everything settles.

A blow dryer is more than sufficient. Just make sure the wrap is flat underneath before assembling the pieces again. Some of the edges on the wrap can be stubborn so you may need to heat those areas and hold em down until they stick.
