Hey guys
Yea I live in the Middle East, UAE to be precise, and the specs here are totally different than the specs in the US/Europe.
All the 2011's here come with the pre-2011 sport bumper and will continue to do so because apparently it's a "market taste" thing.
Rest of the car is all 2011 spec, sport brakes, sport suspension etc.
Date of manufacture is February 2011, Arrived in UAE May 2011. Also printed on the customs and official car registration documents which of course can't be messed with or played with.
All the g37 coupes in this country are identical (checked in several emirates and it's all the same, no 2011 sport bumper - which makes sense since there's only 2 dealerships for the entire country. It's a monopoly)
Full specs can be found here:

I just put 150kms on it, some highway, some local.
Man this car handles like its on rails, totally amazing grip & feedback. I haven't taken her past 5krpm's yet, still trying to break it in gently cycling through the gears and revs.
I met with the bodyshop guy again - to be honest he seems to know his stuff - He re-iterated that because of the climate here, without sealing at very high temperates (which they need a particular type of oven for) the heat and humidity will cause condensation in the light as the seal begins to break. He said he's done in 7 times and it happened 7 times despite warning the customers who went ahead and asked for it to be done anyway.
He also knows of West Coast Customs here who've said they have had the same issues. You have to understand that it gets as hot as 55C here and 90% humidity in the summer.
So what are my options besides tinting the headlights? Should I ask him to do it anyway? is there a way I can guarantee no seal breakage in 3-6 months?
He also mentioned he could order a light ready made from the US with black housing if I wanted but it would be expensive. He recommended that option instead (of course aftermarket)
He's doing 2 detailing samples for me.
MW on smoke (which is Gray 34 shade, pearl) for the wing mirrors, front lip, back diffuser, door handles, grill, spoiler
MW on matt black on the same parts listed above (though he thinks this looks like a cheap option and will spoil the elegance of the car)
I've seen the smoke pearl paint and it looks stunning, but im not sure if it will look as good as the matt black. He's kindly offered to paint two wing mirrors in the shop with the matte black/black housing and smoke/black housing for me free of charge to see real life samples and choose from there.
Any suggestions? Has anyone tried smoke pearl?
