Problem at start up
Guys,
I have been having problems when I press the Engine Start button. Usually, it starts up fine and there are no problems. But, once in a while, it fails to start on the first few tries.
Do you think it's the battery in the key or something in the engine? Any ideas?
Also, when i'm driving, the power seems to dip for a split second. Is the issue related?
Cheers

The engine start has nothing to do with the key FOB battery...
The key FOB battery gets you in the car/locks the car and there will be an indicator in your dash if it's low.
Sounds like it's your CAR battery or possibly even the starter.
Take it to the dealer man, done deal.

I don't think the power dip is related at all to this. My guess is dirty throttle bodies. There's a DIY thread on how to clean them.
Maybe you could bring the car to a Nissan dealership???
Good luck.

Your battery might be low caused by BCM(body control module) draining it. The dealers in the US will replace both BCM and battery for you but since you are wayyyy overthere then....i don't know. I guess try to talk to Nissan dealer to have them handle the matter or call Infiniti direct. Good luck

It's either your battery or the generator, most likely. Next time your car is ON, take off the (Minus) on your battery; if the car continues running, your generator is fine, but if it shuts down right away, your generator isn't working properly. Unless the generator is bad, it's most likely your battery going out. Pop in a new and see what happens!

I have the same problem and don't think it has anything to do with the battery. I think it's probably the clutch switch. Until a couple of days ago, it usually started on the first try, with the second try always working. In the last couple of days I've had to press the button more than twice on two different occasions. It never really bothered me and thought it might be common, but now I'm worried that eventually I won't be able to start it at all.
This is the main reason I'm not crazy about push button starts. I do love never having to take my keys out of my pocket though!
