IIRC the dealers lease AWD sedans from corporate as loaners. I know of a dealer in the ny area that was loaning out their used cars. that dealer closed down for some reason or the other.

If u were to buy those expensive stock tires from the dealer, u can easily run up $1,000+ bill

Go to another dealer. I can't believe this guy had the guts to tell you lease owners take care of their cars better than owners no offense to lease owners

The lease gets the minimum needed to not cost me a penny when I return it.
I dont own it, I RENT it.

That dealer is ridiculous, don't buy the car. If anything I would want to pay less for a leased car because when people know they won't be keeping the car they'll take worse care of it. Heck, if you're in the CA area I'll sell you my '08 coupe for a much better price than that (leaving the states in September for 10-12 months so I'm letting my baby go).

I say there's no difference in between leased or owned. Many take good care of their leased vehicles because they wanna avoid turn in penalties. Especially loyal customers. Many owners change cars every 3 or 4 years but rather not lease because they prefer to own the car so they can put as many miles on them and change or not change the oil whenever they want.

At the end o the day, leased or not, you simply don't know when buying used.

For 34k miles on the clock, a $31,000 price tag is a big rip-offffff. Go away from the dealer or, otherwise, give them an offer of 28k and walk away. Like a lot of people here have listed, there are much better deals out there. I got mine for $30,995 last December, and the car had 9k miles on it -- I thought that was a fair deal due to the mileage. But never, ever would I give the same price for 34k miles on it. Very not worth it. Plus, like one guy said, since the car wasn't there when you went for it, it's a sign.

I work at a dealership. Some of our 08 G sports go from about 28-31 max, and those are ones with around 20k miles. The only reason I let somewhat take a CPO out is if I feel that they are truly interested in THAT car, I will let them take it out for an extended test drive. You have to realize that all the CPO's are test driven by numerous people, especially if they are on the lot for a long time. I mean its just a given. Its ****ed that he told you to come in an the car wasn't there, but, at the same time, it was still available and you could still make a deposit since that what I feel like you were leaning towards. IMO. But, I still wouldn't but it, unless he offers you something better

+ 1 and the dealer needs to PDI and saftey check the car and replace everything that needs to be replaced or they are liable brakes/tires, ect

I dont own it, I RENT it.

I lease Jeep and own G as well, both getting same great care, so? I guess this is about personality, not lease vs own. Remember, someone will drive this ex35 after you!

you dodged a bullet, run as fast as you can from this used car salesman. I know how it is when you get the G fever to buy. I bought a 2010 with 5,800 miles for $38,500 not the best deal but fare for what I got from my local Infinity dealer.

Good luck
