I checked that but it doesnt smell like plastic burning/ melting. It smells like something else, i was maybe thinking its just the motor breaking in because i only have 900 miles on it.

Breaking in. But smell should be almost gone by 900mi. Does it smell like clutch? Clutch smell has a stink to it, not plastic burning. Normal to have the break-in smell though on new car. Same happened to me.

Be sure to check for any coyotes that might be in there:

I dont know what it could be. When i drive it normal, its fine but only when I accerate hard it smells. I know when the clutch slips what it smells like and its not that so im lost. Ill give it more time and see what happens i guess

Poor coyote.

Check engine bay after driving hard for possible source of smell? Check the exhaust piping too to make sure nothing is stuck to it. I've also had a plastic bag stuck to my exhaust before too.

Is there a TSB for this "burning smell"? I couldn't help but notice that you (originally) posted this thread in the TSB - Technical Bulletins area...

I thought this smell was normal during break-in? All my new cars have this smell initially..

Are you sure it's not the brakes?

I have the 7AT but same as you guys: every time I put my car in my garage I'd swear I smelled something burning. Took delivery at end of December, and just in the past 30 days or so I don't hardly notice it's there anymore. I guess I broke it in. I hope I didn't break it. First thing I checked early on was to make sure my parking brake was disengaged, becuase, well, believe it or not in some of my other cars I would forget it was on. Phew. Stink-o.
