Front quarter panel dented and scratched
My poor G37 got hit on Monday.
This lady cut into my lane and I honked and moved into the next lane. I didn't think there was any damage till I parked my vehicle and checked. I didn't feel any contact when it happened. Therefore, both of us did not stop and exchange info.
Attached are two pictures. Is it better to replace the quarter panel or get it repaired? The dent is right on the wheel crease. I talked to the auto body shop and they said they prefer to fix the panel and repaint rather than replace. This shop is good. I used them before.

It is not too bad at all. However, the first accident always hurt the most.
I can't believe how much work is involved in fixing it though. Auto body guy said the front bumper, driver side headlight, and weather stripping under the hood will have to be removed to fix the dent and do a proper repaint.
Also, the driver side mirror cover will have to be repainted. There are six hairline scratches so might as well get them repainted at the same time.

Depending on how bad the scratches are, you might be able to buff them out. Check with a paintless dent removal place. They can do wonders for cheap. Paint as a last option. It's always hard to get the paint to match perfectly - both color and texture.

Most of the scratches on the front quarter panel are not too bad. Might be able to buff out. However, there are spots where the paint is gone and you can see the white stuff under the paint. Is that the primer?
I guess you can't buff it out if the paint is gone and you can see the white primer underneath?
