Would like to hear from folks who chose NOT to get the sport coupe

Look, I'm not trying to argue with you but you're simply wrong. You're not going to get the 14.7 ratio without buying the sports package or 6mt sports car. You can't option it on the Infiniti site and you can't get options a la carte.
If all you care about is looks then yes, the only outward difference is brakes and wheels. But there are significant differences between the sport and non-sport packages. To say the car performs exactly the same is BS. A car with LSD (even a VLSD) will corner and exit with much more authority than a car without. Period. Whether that matters to someone or not is a different story. But the difference is there.
LOL. The IPL has the exact same engine as well. There are more significant differences between the 37 and 37S than between the 37S and IPL. If you don't think faster steering, better brakes, upgraded suspension, VLSD and more supportive seats add to a sportier car then more power to you.

Another interesting thing.. A regular base G37 sedan would beat a G37 coupe sport in a race. (Straight line that is..) funny huh haha

All three engines are the same. Only one has more power = G37 IPL. Lol go try to race a base G37 w.o Journey in a 1/4 mile. You would be head to head in the "Sports" one. A real sports difference is like a BMW M3 vs 335i or Mercedes E class vs Mercedes AMG. Those are real sports difference. The G line is all the same. At least the M has M56 or M37? or FX 45 and FX35? All G37 is the same is all i'm trying to point out.

Also, the new M hybrid can whoop our cars in a 1/4 mile. Lol
Let's not speak of the handling because suspension isn't too pricy esp the stock G37S one. Don't get me wrong, the S is a better deal but there isn't really much of a difference. The S is heavier with the same amount of power as the base model. Technically speaking, the Base model can be faster haha.

When I consider sports car, I look at speed, power and looks. The G line is all the same as for power and the look isn't much different except for the IPL. Comon now, The new 2011 Base G37 coupe has the sports bumper from 2008-2010 lol. Literally, the only look difference for the 2011 models is the brakes.

As for weight, the biggest weight adders on the S is the BBK and the rims, since they add to rotational mass, everything else is marginal at best. Add some cast 19's and a BBK to your base model and it's gonna weight just about the same as the S (and it will cost you way more than $1999).
If your definition of a sportscar is power, speed and looks, then you should look into a dodge challenger.

A sportscar is more about handling than power. Sure a base G is faster than an S on a straight line but throw a few corners into the mix and the S will leave the base in the dust. Especially at a track lap after lap going hard on the brakes. The tiny brakes on the base model will start to fade by the second lap.

HAHAha true. I'm sooooo thankful don't get me wrong haha. If it's any consolation, I do pay for my own mods (and work LOOOOOONNNNGGGG hours)

get the regular S and put chains on it lol. But If you do not care about the front bumper, bucket seats, stiffer springs, the big brake kit, then id say go for the regular one. Btw I know the S has something different about the differential, not sure if its the gear ratio or what.

It is ridiculous to spend extra $$ on a new xs IMO. Get a low mileage 2009 x. The $ you save on the car will allow you to custom build whatever car you like to your style. The sport 19's heavy as **** anyways. The brakes are good, those can be had with SS lines and drilled rotors for 1500. The sport seats are very uncomfortable compared to stock. Figure you'd save 10,000 on the used car over '11
2,500 = used volk's
1,500 = brakes
1500 = suspension
1000 = CBE
500 = intake
400 = hfc's
600 = headers
900 = tuning
---------------------
8,900
You still got 1,100 left over for sound system, custom headlights, smoked taillights... whatever you like

2010 G sport sedan = 3640

heres a thought OP, get a low mileage 2009 S and save 10g's over 2011 Xs, then put the Stillen supercharger on it tuned and installed for 8k and use that bad boy in good weather. Then you have 2k to find an old 4wd for the bad winters while your baby stays warm in the garage
