Mods to improve 0-60

Other topic got deleted because I broke a rule... but anyway, I made it to hear people's thoughts about which mods I could do to improve my G37 coupe's 0-60 time.

Someone mentioned change the gear ratio. Would getting new exhaust or a CAI make much of a difference?

And I do have exhaust/cai/test pipes and I guess it helps a bit.

I was thinking about the Fast Intentions exhaust but it's like $1500. CAI and test pipes could cost another $2k. At that point, I might as well just cough up an extra $3k and get way better gains via turbo/supercharger.

Lighter wheels/sticky tires and a final gear swap will help more than all of the bolt ons put together.

Or go FI. Obviously.

Budget depending. Cheapest and most effective is hyertech by itself. Go 4.08 if you have $2k to spend.

Going hfc/exhaust option is pointless for 0-60 unless you spend another $500 for a tune, w/o it you lose low end power.

+1. Don't waste money on bolt on mod's. You can be spending thousands and only gain 10WHP LOL. If you want the best bang dollar HP get a supercharger or twin turbo. Then you can go pick on them mustang's

I am on the stock sport rims and tires now. I think these look better than anything on the market now... I like the Vossen CV1 set but the performance gain is negligible. The stock Bridgestones are nice tires too. Not sure what the FI gains are though...

Hypertech tuning?

Haha, I see you read my other thread. I am thinking supercharger because I am not a fan of the turbo lag--supercharger could be much better for 0-60.

You'd end up with the exhaust test pipes/high flow cats with boost anyway... It wouldn't be one or the other. You wouldn't just pop a turbo on your car with the stock exhaust and stock cats and be done.

Plus, you should be figuring quite a bit more than $5,000 for FI. Just saying...

The G is not a race car. Of course everyone would enjoy more power, but you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you expect too much. Do the breathing mods and get a tune.

I can't speak for the turbo myself since I don't have one but as far as I know nobody had complained about any turbo lag.

The GTM Supercharger has what you need whether it's a stage 1 or 2. On the stage 1 you can expect 390-430WHP and 345-350TQ to the wheels but expect 460-500whp. The stage 2 is still on it's early development stages right now and not much info yet. Those power is more than enough to pick on them mustang's. I can tell you first hand the SC is the way to go other than twin turbo's. Don't waste money on bolt on's

Pretty sure with Vossens, you're 0-60 times will get worse since those suckers are heavy. Volk FTW!!!
