Does aftermarket exhaust kill classy feeling?

I don't think an aftermarket exhaust hurts the "classiness" of what is a great car, but it's a matter of taste. I installed the Tananbe medalion exhaust on mine a few months ago, but found it too loud for my taste, so I removed it and sold it. It was fun at times, but the constant rumbling was too much, especially early in the morning. Others will certainly feel differently. I'm happy to be back to the stock exhaust note.

The Tanabe will be louder that you want it to be if you want to keep the "classy" aspect of your vehicle. I'm not making that statement from clips I've watched or what I've been told, but from putting it on my car and taking it off because it was too loud for my car when I had to have coworkers or clients ride with me occasionally. Does it sound great? Sure. Does it drone? Nope. Does it have a great mellow, low, throaty tone? Of course. But it will be too loud for what I think it is you want.
A different exhaust like the Invidia that is quieter might be what you're looking for.

I have the invidia on my sedan and everybody that rides in it likes the sound of it a lot. Not a single complaint on volume or tone or anything. As long as you go with a quieter exhaust, you don't take away from the classiness IMO.

I thought that the tanabe was the quietest aftermarket you could get.. are you saying you think the q300 is quieter than it?

I set car alarms off when I run through our parking garage. It's like trumpets anouncing my arrival...lol.
What trans you have has nothing to do with what exhaust you choose IMO.

It's not quieter. I have had both back to back, HFC with both of them. I posted a review on the Invidia somewhere on the forum a long time ago that says it. The Tanabe is not quieter than the Invidia Q300. Not even close. If anybody tells you otherwise, ask them if they've actually had both of them on their car back to back.

So the tanabe is the quietest aftermarket currently available then?
pardon the question, but what is an HFC?

lol makes sence
but truly i would say the classiest sound is without a doubt the tanabe medalion... its not loud its not to aggressive sounding, it keeps the beloved VQ note but of course isnt for performance (its an axleback) so without comparing any other brands i would say this exhaust is the closest sounding to stock hands down
