Which infiniti dealership did you guys go to and was the problem resolved? (was it really the window cowl?)

IMHO, it is definitely the plastic cowl on the outside rubbing or popping against the glass (under certain temperature -- colder -- conditions).
I have chosen to not get it repaired. Instead, after reading up extensively on the issue on this forum, I hit it with a silocone lubricant from time to time along the edge where the glass runs under the cowl.
This has done the trick for me and does NOT require frequent reapplication of the lubricant.
Good luck,

I just didn't want to risk secondary damage to the car from the fix.

I just came across this thread, and thought I would chime in.
My car is at the dealer now for that popping noise. My dealer told me it was the sheet-metal underneath the cowling on the passenger side was mis-aligned. They said they re-aligned it and then spot welded it back.

Update me when you get your car back.

I discovered the cowl issue last year...
... and I also think there's a secondary noise under the steering wheel - there's a loose plastic there that causes some noise from within the cabin.
