Intake cat and turbo questions for my g
Ok I have a stillen exhaust and I'm interested in increasing my power. Do I go with intake, hi-flow cats, and tune. And should I do takeda dual cai, takeda dual ram, injen ual cai, or stillen gen 3. Also which hfc would you recommend? And what else would you recommend? I'm new to infiniti. I just traded in my 09 wrx for this 08 g37 coupe. It has about 60k miles on it.

Also which hfc would you recommend? And what else would you recommend? And should I just wait on a gtm turbo kit or would that change everything for the parts I get after. I'm new to infiniti. gtm makes a mean kit from what ive read, if you going to invest in a turbo, i wouldnt bother getting any of those things yet, the turbo intake would replace your takeda/stillen/injens, they will be fully tuning the car to work with the mass amounts of parts they installed and they probably have a recommended exhaust set up as well. just go to their website and read up on it or give them a call, GTM Motorsports theres the website.
if your going basics, stillen makes a decent exhaust and you already have it. my personal preference is the stillen gen 3's for an intake, berks makes some good hfc's, i had them, you could feel a difference in the flow but i didnt like the sound high flow cats gave my car with the exhaust i have so i took em out. you could do a set of headers too, top that all off with a tune and you'll be maximizing your output wiht basic bolt on upgrades.
then theres always suspension upgrades, lowering the car is a nice starting point for most people, just giving the car a better appearance and stance in general. springs are nice and cheap, but again if your going turbo, invest in something a little more... performancey? get some coil overs, i hear good things about the kv3's.
you can upgrade just about anythig and theres tons of info across this forum on anything and everything, just click that search button and type something in, your bound to find what you want

i decided against the turbo i think im just gonna go basic... so you didnt like the sound of your high flow cats? what type of sound did it have? also what upgrades are on your car? and would you recommend a motordyne intake manifold?

sorry for the later reply, it wasnt so much the hfc's. it was the exhaust i was using them with. I've heard the Invidia Gemini with HFC's and Test Pipes and its pretty mean with either. MXP sounds awesome with both HFC/TP's, same for the ARK, just the Invidia Q300 didnt, it sounds nice by it self to me, some people like the rasp, i unfortunately do not.
Coincidentally i have my Q300 for sale as i just traded my G for a Z
As far as my upgrades, ill run down everything i had at the max point
+ Stillen Gen 3 Intakes - Highly recommend, as most here would, great sound, great gains
+ Berks High Flow Cats - recommend with the right exhaust, you need to find a combo thats good for you with a sound your comfortable with
+ Invidia Q300 - nice deep idle, slightly raspy at higher rmps but overall great sound in my opinion.
+ UpREV Tune - totally worth it. Stock, an X typically puts about 250-260 hp down to the wheels, unfortunately since its awd and auto theres a good amount of power loss from the start to the end. these bolt ons put about 283 hp down to the wheels before the tune, i had about 305 when i was done, 7 dyno pulls and a few hours later. car def moved better
+ GT Spec Strut Bar - helps with body flex.... or roll.... one of those by keeping your struts latterally alligned with each other for increased stability, but by itself, with no other support enhancements, i dont feel it does all that much but its a nice show peice when the hoods popped
+ Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs - nice little upgrade, almost completely eliminated fedner gap in front and rear, tightens up and roughens up your ride a bit too. ide say about 85% of stock ride quality is till there but you do feel more bumps. it was a nice suspension upgrade but if you want to go all out, ide look into KV3's, i hear tons of good things about them
+ LED's - just for astheitics, you may want to consider upgrading your lights to LED's and pickin up a nice set of 6000K or 8000K headlights, nice little touch.
Hope my input helps you with your decisions

I domt think most people know thar it takes 10k+ to run turbos in a G. Run intakes, hfc, and a catback. My favorite it stillen gen 3 plus fast intentions exhaust and test pipes.
Then an uprev tune

test pipes allow for more flow because your eliminating the cat and replacing with bascially a straight thru pipe, your gonna need that tune to turn off your o2 sensors so you dont throw codes. You'll get a little more power from the TP's from what ive heard but its really up to you, HFC's will keep you legal as far as i know and you'll still pass inspection, they do in New York so they probably do everywhere else, since we have such strict laws reguarding emmisions.
Berks hfc's will work with any exhaust you just have to find one that creates the tone you want, do a little youtube searching or go to some local meets and see what people have to help you make your decision
Doggy's absolutely right as well, my local performance shop dropped between 15-18 grand a peice into 3 370Z's to do GTM twin turbos (same concept for the G), granted it can blow a GT-R out of the water for 2/3rd's the price but, turbos take a lot of money, work, time and patience
Theres also a G35 there pushin 480 to the rear wheels and it ran the guy about 13 grand. consider that when you think about that turbo, bolt ons are wya more practical for the average joe driver
