Definitely bad press for the BMW, but not entirely warranted. Their car failed due to cooling issues (since resolved), so it didn't actually complete the test. Even so, the G wins based on cost, as it usually does in these comparos.
The common message is, "The BMW is a better car, but not a $10-$15K better car".
Regardless, it does show how close the G is, in the race for best car. At the current rate of development, the next generation will be even closer, if not better. At some point, however, and I think they're pretty much there now - the Infiniti will have its own personality, and will diverge from the BMW such that these comparisons become less and less relevant.
