AIT TS Front Lip Install

I tried searching for this but no luck. Anyways, my AIT TS front lip came in today along with the sideskirts. I was too excited to wait to take it to the body shop to see how it looked. I tried to test fit the front lip but it came out too short on one side. I heard the fitment isn't the greatest for these lips but am I doing something wrong? From the looks of it, its going to need alot more modification for the lip to fit then expected. Anyone with suggestions?

In my experience the lip fits perfectly with no modification. When I had mine it was literally perfect fit. But now I've got a full TS molded bumper so that's totally different obv...pictures will help a lot

Try taking the bumper off to install the lip. It is a TIGHT fit!

you cant just bend it in a little for it to snap in? looks like it may fit with a little tug and pull

well, not many are ball enough to buy the authentic kit for TS. (I just got myself a replica one too. And i do know about the fitment problem. )

I was afraid to snap the lip; it’s still pretty cold here in Ottawa, Ontario. I was going to try taking the bumper off and trying to fit it on that way. Hoe that works...I don’t feel like moulding the lip.

I finally got around to having the ship paint and install my TS aero parts. The guy said he has never had any aftermarket parts fit so perfectly. He didn't have to do anything at all to it for it to fit perfectly into place. Didn't even require any double sided tape. The only thing that wasn't absolutely perfect about the fitment was on the sides of the rear bumper where there is a small gap. They all fit his way. Haven't figured out what (if anything) to do about it.

OP, have your shop do what they can to make it fit. That's all they can do is to work with it the best they can. Taking off the bumper will likely help a lot. But I'm not sure if that will make the bumper itself fit more poorly when you put it back on.

False. I've had/still have a couple AIT pieces and they've all fit perfectly.

My AIT TS front lip didn't need any tape, no modification, nothing all I did was put two screws in the wheel well to make sure it didn't come off, which I would have done with any lip

This.

If you buy a replica part and it fits perfectly, you're in the minority. One should never expect a replica to fit perfectly...

*EDIT* - But, yes, OP... A good body shop should be able to make that fit. I've seen much worse...

AIT parts are crap...end of story. You want TS parts...a company by the name of Top Secret sells them. They are based out of Japan and sell HIGH QUALITY parts that have ZERO fitment issues.
