G37S wheel spin--lack of

Hey yall, just picked up an automatic 08 g37s today. Sweeeet ride. Ofcourse, the first thing I try to do is break the tires loose. I turned off the VDC, but only get tire spin for a split second, then it stops. I kinda want to be able to hammer the throttle in hard turnes and slide the back end out....like Bow and Luke Duke. Whats the point of having a VDC off switch if its doesnt turn off traction control too?

Is there a simple mod to fix this problem?

Thanks!

That is sort of true, lots of G-wreck stories start with: "I switched off my VDC for some fun"

The G has no V8 either, so don't expect much wheel spin off the line, it will slide plenty on corners though

"I switched off my VDC for some fun" ....This is what I was trying to do...but no fun happened. It still has traction control with vdc off.

Thanks for all the off topic comments though.

of course it does, but you can turn it off just like the AT. VDC turned off + 6MT = wheelspin potential (if so desired). but the G is not a muscle car so "burnouts" are not its forte. go buy an old 5.0 and find a local 1/4 mile track for that.

Whatever. It burns for a split second then stops. Obvious traction control intervention. If the TCS didnt stop it, this thing would smoke em. Thats not the issue. What I am saying is when VDC is off, it still has TCS. In redneck terms, thats "no wheel spin potential" Maybe I should have posted this under "tech" and not under "hillbilly" LOL

Nevermind.

You're right it stays on even when you turn the dynamic control off. Check the fuses...

Imma smash you in the head cause you are insulting me too. Like many other people, I bough my G for fun, not to drive it like my grandpa!

Sam is correct though, turn VDC off and you will be sliding those corners. Its fun
Oh yeah, but be careful.

True, even with VDC, our "SLIP" light will activate. Kinda ghey, right?

If there is one thing I hate about the G, the lack or a complete Traction control off. Stupid thing doesnt even chirp past first gear. Maybe on a 6mt, but trust me... not much different. Oh well...
I have a 7AT BTW.

Guess i will just get used to TCS and VDC. So now I have to learn the feel of the computer, not the road, power or suspension. Should still be fun.

Cheaper fix would be to put some Hankook V12's on, these pups are spin masters. You could also throw some bolts on just to maximize the benefit of a tune... together they'll let you see the spin light quite often.. unfortunately.
