Unhappy Going from 2010 G37S to IPL .. more info inside

I currently own a 2010 G37S with the Aerodynamic package . Has about 1100 miles on it , fully loaded with the 6MT. Car is 100% MINT , have only had a passenger in the car 5 times .

I was considering the IPL , so I went to the dealer just for the hell of to ask how much it would be to trade in and get the IPL .

I was SHOCKED at what they said .. They told me my car was worth " MID 30's .

so I lost over 10 grand in 3 months ??????????????? WTF

You lost that much driving it off the lot. But then the value stays.

So are you trading for an IPL?

Duh...cars are the worst investment. They depreciate as soon as you drive it off the lot. Good thing is, it will be valued at 30kish for awhile.

Ya you lose a large % the second you you buy the car. You can look at residual lease rates to see what a brand new car would be worth 3 years later or whatever your terms are. It's also another reason how so many people become upside down on their car loans if they put 0 down and try to sell their car or tradein a year later or something. When buying a brand new car it's best to keep it for awhile and pay it off, preferably with a large amount down.

They have to give you Mid 30's so they can sticker it for 42k and sell it for 38-40k and make 3-5k+ that's all day with used cars that's how dealerships eat the most.. you know the game. Sell it private party.

Hell no I wont trade it for the IPL , by the time I break down the loss of value of my car it's not worth it , I'd end up paying 75 grand for the damn thing .

I'm more than happy with my car , I just wasn't expecting it to drop so much .

Guess I will just toss a supercharger on it and call it a day .

Hot car man! Too bad the IPL graphite is not the same as your current car. Its more on the silver side than gun metal. Why do you want to make the swap?

that's about right... I mean new cars don't actually hold their value... mid 30s is probably being generous for a 2010 in a 2011 year.

They won't be able to sell it for any more than 36-38k either... The coupe is only worth 42... you did pay tax... lol don't factor in taxes/fees in your purchase price...

just mod your car man... wrap it like in matte white if you want to be unique. lol IPL isn't worth it unless your intentially buying it... it's actually not that bad of a deal to an IPL if you're in the market for an S 6speed coupe.

my car's sticker was 46k (paid 44OTD). It was worth 38k the next day, lol. that's why you don't buy new cars if you like changing them every couple years.

Yeah well figure in this ,

out the door car cost was 49,656.50
car is worth say 35,000.00

that's a total of about 15 grand I lost

ad that to the 51k sticking price of the IPL = 65k

yeah I was off 10 grand , but like I said . I will just keep what I have .

I have a $30,000.00 Roland printer and I do wraps almost every day for my biz . I know what I'm doing and I will tell you that wrapping this car is something I would never attempt . You wouldn't be able to get it as perfect as you think.

If any of you guys need wrapping material "3M" or decals just let me know ! I can beat any price .
