Trading you car that quick, even with so few miles, ain't worth it. If you get the new car itch that often, you'd do better leasing in the future.

But yeah, I'm not surprised by you losing that much value. Keep in mind, you're gonna get low balled at the dealer. They still have to sell your car too.

Put the money in the FI and you'll have a better car than the IPL anyway.

Even getting a paint job for it would be better than loosing all that on the trade. It's a sweet car as it is and not worth the loss for a specialty model. You made a good first choice. Now have fun moding it up!

To me the IPL isn't worth the money. I am surprised that you really didn't know cars depreciate that much. That is why if you buy a car, it's best to keep it at LEAST 5 years to make sure you get your money's worth. As much as I don't care for my G, I will keep it until the wheels fall off.

No need to be shocked by that quote from the dealer. Every new car drops in value once you drive it off the lot. Whether you are talking BMW, Audi, etc. You would also expect a dealer to low ball you on the value, especially on trade ins. That is how the business goes.

Lease, never buy and never put more than the first month down on a lease. Why? You buy homes bc they appreciate (or at least did until recently). Cars only go down...and significantly (>30%) from Day One. If you cannot afford the monthly lease payment without putting cash down, than its not the car for you.

Lease, drive the **** out of it, then turn it in for the next one. Its cheaper in the long run than having to buy a new car every 7-10 years and maintain it. For a lease, just stick to oil changes and tire service and your are as good as gold. Never pay for routine service on a lease either....what a rip off....everything is under warranty.

Good thing you didn't buy a domestic...your 42k car would be worth like 12 now.

I'm gonna be honest with you, wait three month.. Find an ipl that will be in the the same condition, then drop a few grand and swap from a private owner :P

Not worth the money? It's an amazing deal.

A 2011 6mt Coupe with the Aero package will set you back $47,675
A 2011 IPL 6mt Coupe is.............................................. $48,825

So for $1150 bucks, you get a different ECU, IPL Exhaust, a bit different interior accents, different wheels, IPL tuned suspension, plus everything is covered by warranty. Totally worth the money for people that just want to enjoy the car right out of the factory and not throw aftermarket parts on it.
