Meh...given my assumptions, my math was right. I totally would have gotten partial credit (which is pretty much how I got my engineering degree).

Hum, I would just mod car B until it could overtake car A in 1 mile at 165Mph... problem solved. I'd throw in some wheels and lower it so I could look good doing it too!

Im with highspeed on this one, i do it all the time, given the nature of our cars and the speeds they are capable of and how most of us have modded our cars even slightly to increase our performace, they do 95 without breathing heavy at all and how does the size of the road make a difference? i drove through VA like 2 weeks ago on my way to Florida, i did way more than 95 at one point and there was only 2 lanes. Car B was not present for me.

None the less, I fail to see the point of this question. I vote move this to a math related forum.... Calculus & Analysis Forum
go try it out on those nerds or just tell us how much over your ticket was for.
