I am in the market for a used G37 coupe, I drove several base and a few Sports package Coupes in the last few days I am confused by the sport package claims that they are the only ones with a limited slip rear diff. The factory service tech told me all of the coupes have them and only the sports package have VLSD but the rest are LSD? The reason for the confusion is the fact that I drove a new 2011 base today that had no problem running sideways and the sales guy even slung it around like we were in a drifting competition!! we took it back and got the sport coupe it also performed well but when we tried the same thing the VLSD light came on and pulled us out of the slide even with the VDC off! is that how it supposed to work? or am I wrong about the whole thing or what hoping someone can clear this up.

 

Not sure about the ability to turn off VLSD, but all the sport packages have VLSD. If you buy a manual G37, it has to be a G37S and it has to have a sport package. If you buy a G37 it will not have VLSD.
