Cabin filter

I Know this should be in the DIY section but I think I'll get a faster response Here...is the cover for the filter compartment supposed to snap back in or just cover the compartment? If it's supposed to snap back on to cover the filter then I'm having some trouble with it (YES SMH) ...any help is appreciated

The tab does snap into place on the right side. Make sure you have it turned the right way,
