Question about price
Hey guys,
I've been a long time reader of MyG37 now and I just recently signed up. I'm about ready to get myself a G coupe (so excited!) and wanted some opinions from everybody.
Right now, I'm going for the Journey trim with the Premium package. I went on Edmunds.com to get some sort of price in my head for when I went to the dealership. After doing their little pricing system thing on their website, it said that the G Coupe Journey with Premium package, invoiced, is $38,580. After going to the dealership, they offered the car to me for $37,150. Is it really possible for them to offer me a car $1,430 under invoice, or do you think there's some sort of catch? If they already lowered it so much, can I get them to lower it even more? lol
Thanks for any responses.

Firstly: Welcome to Myg37.com
There is a section on buying a car that has all the info you could read about pricing on the car. One of the best sources to look at for prices is;
ZAG.com
click on buy a car
and then click on american express and follow the directions. It printed the lowest price I could find on my car. I took that in to the dealer and they said ok. This was a custom order as well.

They can still go lower.
If this helps,
I payed $38,600.00 out the door.
6mt Sedan G37S.
Most people that want manual go for the coupe, I wanted a practical sedan.
Sometimes it pays to want a car no one else cares to look at.

damn thats a pretty good deal. pricing differs significantly based on location , timing and simply luck as well. for my G the lowest i could get was at 500 above invoice just beacuse dealers around my area aren't really competitive at all.

Generally below invoice is a good deal. I got a 2007 G35 coupe with premium and sport for $28,900 + tax (originally >$39k). That was a crazy deal though, because it was when the 2008 V36 G37 coupes had just come out so it was an old generation. I can guarantee that was well below invoice.
In your case, that's a good deal though. Dealers have all types of incentives to work with. They are probably still making money on your deal and it never hurts to go a little lower. Best tactic is to try to get a competing dealer to beat the price. If they can, go back to the first dealer. If they can't, try for about $500 less. Trying for $500 means going $800-$1000 less.
