Nismo 370z or IPL G coupe
#46
I had the Z, and now I have the G, imo, the G has best of both worlds. Luxury, Fast, sounds about the same (exhaust wise), but interior is much much quieter! I think it all depends on your age, how much you can afford, and if you need back seats. If you can answer those three, then the choice is easier..

Here is my view lol.
Single
25 years old
Don't need back seats

I Have enough to afford either car
Ahhh lol just don't know, I had a 07z b4 and always saw the Z as a pure sports car w exotic styling but the G always w Both luxury and sport .

IPL ? Lol G37S w Aero/IPL kit and Vossen wheels! Baddass Coilovers system! Fast intentions Exhaust! IPL owned..... Just a better build to get the same look for less and a more exotic looking more powerful coupe. If u buy an IPL leave stock and lower it otherwise it's a waist if you change out wheels! Suspension! Amd exhaust ! Defeats the purpose of a IPL therefor G37S w added parts is a better car.

Its essentially the same car from the drivers perspective, sure there is an extra 30HP.. but all that is negligible.. most often my need for speed gets satisfied well before I'm even starting to push her... and when you put her through some turns going fast enough she wall make you hold your breath...
Definately not true. From a drivers stand point they counld be two totally different cars.
I will just tell you, having not read many of the posts in here, that you really can't compare the 2 vehicles. They are totally different. Having an IPL and a Z I will say this. The Z is a blast to drive. The G is refined and a nice ride. I just got back from a 1,400 mile trip in the Z and I didn't like it too much. The G I have done the same trip and it was definately a fun drive. The Z will beat you and is cramped. The Z is lighter and you feel that. The G is heavier but feels sure footed. The Z you feel like you can push more in corners but it doesn't feel as sure footed due to the weight. The Z has more road noise and only one cup holder. The G has a back seat and longer wheel base. I could go on and on.
I guess what it comes down to is what you plan to use the car for. Daily commuting the Z is a blast and fun to drive in town. Road trips aren't bad as long as they aren't long. The G is classy. We use it for going out and road trips. I am paraniod in any parking lot. I love the car and want to keep it nice, the Z I am less woried about. The other factor is I see Nismos, I have yet to see another IPL on the road. To me that right there is a cool factor. I am 47 and at times I feel a little wierd driving the Z as it seems more like a kids car than an adults. That won't stop me from driving it though. The G I get comments on every where I go the Z not so much. Even when we go to places like the Belagio the parking lot security always tells us "nice car" when we are in the G. Never say a word when I am in the Z.
Like I say it really depends on what you want, and don't think that they are the same car as they don't drive the same at all. I have been asked why I got two cars that are the same.................they aren't even close to being the same. Test drive both and you will see what I mean.

Nismo 370Z.
You really can't go wrong either way, but for the price the IPL is asking for, it's almost an easy decision. As many have said, for the price of an IPL, you could just mod a G37s with quality parts to your liking, and stand out just as much or more and be faster than an IPL for less.
I came from a 350Z, so I can imagine how much nicer a Nismo 370 would be with its upgraded interior and an exterior that really stands out and has presence on the road. I just don't think the IPL has much presence on the road, most people wouldn't even notice the difference. Whereas the Nismo 370 is instantly more radical and raw in a good way. My 2 cents.

370z nismo hands down. Actually I am thinking about getting one to. IMO IPL G is just not worth it I don't think Infiniti should go into the 50k price range and if they do they better come out with some better performance than 350hp.
Than I also hear nissan might come out with a turbo charged 370z. If this is true than I would really get one.

This is a great point. If you are planning on buying an IPL and modifing it, don't do it. I see people take off all the parts that make their car an IPL. Whats the purpose of this? Even lowing your car means you changed out springs which were a part of the IPL suspension set up. Why did you get an IPL then?
IPL's are fine if you are going to keep them stock. If you are going to modify the car then go with a different model and save yourself some cash. I feel the same about the Nismos. If you are going to modify the car, don't waste your money on a Nismo.
All that being said if I wanted a fast car I would have gone with a totally different car altogether............Neither the Z or the G are "fast" or ever will be with out serious cash put into them.

You can get a Nismo Z for under 38K new!!! yes it lacks Navi and Leather which sucks. I love the styling of the Nismo I think it's a unique sports car.
IPL for 50K is flat out not worth it!
35-38K for a Nismo lacks some features that would be nice to have which even in my current G I don't have Navi or care to have, yes it would be nice but to me the Z is great as is at least in the Nismo form.
