keyfob programming gone wrong

took the car to get another keyfob programmed at the local dealership. I was told 45 mins later that they're not able to get it programmed, and the car doesn't start with the original keyfob.

Dealership says ECU might be fried, they called their technical support and were told to replace the steering actuator !!! They said they'll do that and see what happens.
Initially they started blaming on the Lo Jack which wasn't even activated.

In order to program a key, I guess they've to plug in through the comm port and probably using a computer like CONSULT they would program the new key. The technician probably did something while this was being done and from what they tell me lot of fuses were blown,

They did some tests and are going to replace the BCM module. If that doesn't work then it'll be the IPDM module.

If the car works after replacing either of these moduels, should I worry about anything else that might've got partially or fully damaged?

You can complain to the dealer and head office. Maybe ask them to cover a rental car for you if you need a car every day. That's about it.

That's one of the down sides to buying an import. Occasionally you're stuck waiting on parts from Asia or Europe.

Request for a free loaner and drive it until you get your car back.
