G37 Coupe SERVICING
I was wondering does it really matter if one does not do the regular oil and filter change from the dealership, or is it better to do every service from the dealership? And those dealership guys always "recommended" additional services so I was wondering if it is wise to listen to them, or just ignore them.
Also, would it be really bad for the G37 Coupe if one does not put Premium fuel?
Please let me know. Thanks!

Screw the dealer, they charge an arm and a leg and use cheap oil/filters. Change the oil and filter yourself at the schedualed interval and use a good oil/filter. As for the fuel its best to use premium, the manual strongly recommends it as well. Youll only sace 5 bucks a tank using regular fuel, and it will hurt your performance. If you HAVE to use anything less tthan premium, the manual recommends you dont got over 3k revs and dont drive very long

You can service the car anywhere you want or DIY. That will not affect your warranty. Just keep receipts for everything performed.
Follow what your book says and you'll be fine. Your service advisor should follow the book as well. They give you two schedules and premium maintenance (may be a little over kill).

im in the same predicament!
i rotate my own tires and change my own oil and when i told the service advisor, he said that there was nothing else to be done for my 7500mile service interval... so i left.
is there anything else important that needs to be done?

FOCK THE STEALERSHIP! I never go to dealers that just a hole in my pocket for the same services, an oil change is as easy as it gets and it's the same anywhere you go! And forget the 7500 service it's an expensive tire rotation, diy.
I can't stand these dealers thinking if they use big
Words for simple **** that I'll buy into it. Not fooling me

Sure why not. The only reason I don't mind paying the dealership to service the car is the fact that they are more likely to goodwill an item when you're out of warranty if you have service records with them as opposed to someone off the street. Same thing goes for warranty work.
Not to mention a dealership is held to a higher standard and will do what they can to correct something they did wrong. (They live and die by their surveys).
You can DIY also, not very difficult to do those items, oil change, filters, etc.

so should i go in anyways for a free multipoint inspection at my 7500 mile mark (which i am past) anyways, even if i did the tire rotation and oil change on my own?
cuz i feel that if in any case i had to do warranty work in the future, they pull up a my record and see i have had no service appts in the past and then deny me because i dont take care of my car or something

The multi point inspections are seen as opportunity for the dealer. Sure have them do it, get a car wash out of it. At 7500 miles nothing should be due for your car other then oil changes and tire rotations.
15k do your air filters, in-cabin filters, oil change and rotation (if all four of your tires are the same size).

The G is just like any ol' RWD car to be honest with you. At 30k and 60k I think you need to change the rear diff oil. Other things like brakes, oil changes, and tire rotations are things that you should pretty much know when to do.
Change the oil by the service manual intervals
Change the brakes when you pedal starts to squish and you feel you're having to apply more pressure to stop.
There's nothing special about the G that requires special tools for regular maintenance. I never take my car to the dealer because it's 45 miles away and I have the Nissan dealer 2 mins from my house take care of things like alignments, oil changes, etc. that I can't do or don't feel like doing myself.
