G got keyed, Got to love haters

So last night I was at a friends party and I parked right in the front of the house, when I come outside I didn't notice anything but this morning I see my car got keyed. I don't have problems with anyone there but if I find out who it was

Ouch! Sorry to see that.
I wonder if an annoyed neighbor may be to blame.
Was there loud music at the party?
This should only happen to asshats that use two parking spots for one car.

Claim vandalism to insurance and get some money back for painting. It happened to my son's car before, oh-well ... It is only means culture degradation of these people to me.

That is why is important to have $500 deductible, at least you could get something cost over this. With $1000 deductible you might be getting nothing, sorry.

Lol, someone on this forum wrote that a $1000.00 deductible is the way to go.

COMP vs COLL

I feel your pain. I had my new Lexus IS300 keyed about 2 months after I got it in college.

If you're looking to save a little, you could try asking your agent or insurance company to set your collision deductible at $1,000 or more, then set your comprehensive deductible at $250 or so (these are what I have on my G).

Vandalism would be covered under a COMP (comprehensive) claim. Other covered incidents include hit-and-run and hail. Most of what people refer to as "accidents" are COLL (collision) claims.

It is cheaper a bit, but if deer will hit you or some vandalism happened like this it is good to have less deductible. At least you will be getting some money back over this amount. Also good not to claim vandalism more than one time in couple of years, insurance don't like this and might raise payment.
