how to change oil?
#2
Honestly, changing the oil in this car is cake. Open the manual and follow it step by step and you can't go wrong. Its very clearly explained how to, you can also read through the oil section here.

its easy, i had a problem using the oil filter wrench the first time, but do what i did, buy a 1 inch wrench and k&n oil filters, that nut on the top changed my oil change time from 30 min to 10.

At the bottom of the engine, there is a drain plug. Loosen with a socket, but ensure you have a drain pan or some kind of container underneath. Replace drain plug when it has finished draining. Replace filter, and then fill engine with oil...

I read this question and decided to make a thread in the proper section of the site. Here is the link. Although this is for 2011 Sedan

Always grease the new filter's "O" ring and lubricate the threads (I use a dab of the new oil) and you'll find that the filter will never stick again.

If you're having a hard time removing the used oil filter do this: Take a long screwdriver and jab it through the oil filter, pick a spot as close to the end-cap (away from threads), you're not going to re-use the filter anyway, this gives you a handle to unscrew the filter. Remember to position a container under the filter.

EDIT
As long as you do all your own oil changes, I'd suggest just using your hands. Tighten until the filter is sitting on the block then turn 3/4 turn more. It really doesn't have to be on that tight. Also make sure to pour about 1/8 quart of oil in the filter as well as applying some to the gasket.

Yup ... never crank on the filter super tight. I usually only make 3 quarter turns BY HAND after the filter is seated. Removal should never require more than bare hands (with latex gloves for added grip) if done this way. I don't even have an oil filter wrench.
I've never added oil to the filter before intallation. I would imagine it getting messy since the filter is installed horizontally? I also change my oil with the motor slightly warmed up or hot so oil should already be where it is needed on re-start.
I also suggest using ramps to raise the car for ease of access when removing the lower engine cover.
