As for the G, I also remember how hard it is not going past 4000 rpm on my 09 (I did redline it a couple of times before break-in), but I'm sticking to it as I just got a 2010. I don't really mind the lack of low end torque (relative) to be honest. It's irritating when the 335i guys flaunt their 300 ftlb at 1400 rpm, but we have a naturally aspirated engine, and that's just how it is. I like how linear our engines are though. The power at higher rpms and the sound is awesome.
I feel the same way. I am all about the n/a engines at this point. I had a turbo charge subaru before buying the G and part of the reason I got rid of it was the turbo lag and the constant fear of the turbo blowing up!
