G37x Towing

Got into a car accident last night and required my '10 G37x to be towed. They ended up towing the car with the rear lifted and the front wheels rolling on the ground. What kind of damages could be done due to this? And how long before I notice anything? Any input would be great.

Thanks!

You should read up in the owners manual on how the car should be towed. But rule of thumb is if it's AWD than it should be on a flat bed.

There's a good chance some expensive stuff got eaten up by letting it get towed like that.

This can lead to transfer case issues, which is easily a 4 digit repair bill.

Doesn't sound good. I guess your insurance company got some work to do.

Im suprised the towing company didnt notice this, I am not 100% sure but in my Nissan manual, which I am sure the same rules would apply to Infiniti, damage incurred due to the car being towed in the wrong fashion will void warranty on those parst damaged.

sorry for the old bump but i found this and figured id bump this instead of making a new thread.

My G37x was towed about a month and a half ago. They towed it with the rear lifted and the front 2 wheels on the ground. I saved the release paperwork they gave me and I have pictures of how it was towed so I am good if they ever want to go to court BUT...my question is:

Since then, my car has been fine I have not noticed anything wrong with it what so ever. Now, is this just a case of the problem not showing its face yet? I noticed how you guys said there COULD be damage, so does that mean its not guaranteed? What factors into this? How does this work? If the AWD system was ruined would it have showed up instantly or can this problem pop up a year or two from now? Feed back please!

FWIW I've put on about 900 miles since then while driving in heavy rains and dry conditions and I have not noticed any problems.

i dont know the answer to these but i just want to raise a couple questions that might help.

i have a 2011 g37xs, i was told by the salesman that the front wheels are only enganged when the vehicle detects slick conditions (i assume the front and rear wheel speed is not equal etc etc).

1. its my understanding the car is rwd only unless it detects slippage. i would assume then that the cars front wheels are not engaged when off.

2. if they had the car in neutral i would think the impact on the drive train would be minimal as well?
