Battery Dead cause of this?

I came to worked and parked, I opended my door and turned off the engine, I heard a beeping noice, but no lights were on and nothing else seemed to be on. I came back from lunch and my battery was dead.

I got a jump and the battery recharged.

Had it checked at Infiniti and battery is good. I told them my story and they said I should NOT open the door until the engine is off. What?

So the beeping is alarming me about????

That's bizarre. I open my door all the time while the engine is on and have never had an issue. My main issue is if I don't drive the car for several days in a row or drive it very little in a week, the battery dies.

Wow... Thats wierd. My car only beeps if

1. The Car is not in Park when I close the door.

2. The Ignition is not in the off position when i close the door.

3. I leave the intelligent key in the car and press the button on the door.

4. i leave the Headlight switch in Park or on position. If I do this their is a continuous beep as soon as I open the door with the ignition off.

If I leave a light on or the headlights on they automatically go off after about 5 min per the manual. I was at the drive in the other night watching "Fighters" (car in ACC) and after about an hour the car shut off completely. Had to turn it back on to finish watching the movie. Thats the second time that has happened so Im pretty sure that if the car is left in Acc it will automaticall shut off.(at least on my 2010 it does) Never heard of not opening the door before turning off the ignition. Sounds like they were just trying to get rid of you. imo

That has happened to me ... if I open the door right as I shut the engine off and before everything "settles" (steerling wheel lock, etc) it beeps. Easily repeatable.

Question Headlights on

Just out of curiosity, why do any of you turn your headlights on? I just leave mine on "automatic" all the time and never touch the switch. Same with the wipers on "auto"

Just wondering why you would be turning them on and off?

Easy, we have area's here in MD and VA that are mandatory headlight on area's. When it's light out, auto is of no use.

What I was talking about having experienecd the beeping, my headlights were already off, it was already in P, I think the car "cycles down" and that takes a few milliseconds, if you open the door before it's done you get the beep. If you close the door and reopen, no beep.

Not to change my topic, but when the battery died, I was looking for the voltage/battery guage in the cluster, and realized, what? no guage. My Pathfinder had one, I thought for sure this would too, unless its in the computer readout which I need to learn how to use.

1 tip is change your headlight to turn off immediately after u turn off the car and shut the door, instead of waiting 1 minute.
It is available in setting>comfort in the center console.
