The OP is just talking plain nonsense when he starts complaining about "heavy doors". That is the first time I see someone complaining about doors being too heavy.

Get into any Mercedes/BMW/Audi/Porsche and they all have "heavy doors". That is because having heavy doors on a car means the car are solidly built and not made out of plastic.

As far as I am concern, that is a feature !

I have been saying all along.

The Infiniti G37 coupe is a Grand Tourer. Period.

It is in the same category as Aston Martin and Maserati. Sure both Aston Martin and Maserati make fast cars. But they Don't make sports cars. What they make are Grand Touring cars.

As in they don't focus on making their car win at track or score the fastest 0-60. What they focus on is to make their car sporty but at the same time luxury and comfortable.

Take Aston Martin DB9 for example. That car has a 5.9L V12 with 512 hp and 443 lb of torque. Yet 0 to 60 takes 4.6 seconds. Why is it so slow ? That is because they don't sacrifce weight/luxury to make the car go faster. They want to make the car as comfortable as possible.

That is the definition of a Grand Tourer.

*Grand Tourers, able to make long-distance, high-speed journeys in both comfort and style.

Well coming from a Nissan maxima to the G37 coupe, I'd have to say the G37 in no way feels like a big car, first the seats don't like fat people. The car is so stable through corners, and the clutch is so abrupt, and the shifter clicks into each gear unlike some gearboxes that are like mushy. I think you should have got the sport model, if you think your car is too soft.

I think those cars are made for the track as well. You said they are made to be as comfortable as possible, and I agree with you on this. I think they want a balance of performance, and comfort because most people want something they can just drive around as well. Generally people that can afford those cars are ususally kind of old, and they won't buy it if they can't survive in it. Beside the fact that the car is softned up for everyday use, I think that these cars are still cars made to perform on the track as well.

As with the G37 I believe Nissan gave it sport seats, 4 piston calipers, and LSD for track purposes. Yes, its pretty much a fat Z but some people like me are willing to give up some performance for an overall nice car.

--- Edit:

Relax folks, the world's not going to end because the G37 is actually 'smooth' instead of abrupt like the Z. If I wanted to deal with a freak out by the slightest bit of comment that could possibly be considered 'criticism', I'd go talk with my wife instead of posting.

[hate the editor, it eats carrriage returns]
Did you ever test drove it? Why did you purchase the car then? Not very smart.

Did you take reading comprehension? Why did you post then? Not very smart. --Was that comment nice? No? neither was yours. Read the first post again, I said it reminded me of a big car. Did I say it was a 'bad thing'? NO. I said it reminded me of a large car. Later in the thread, is a discussion of the concept of a difference of sports car and grand tour-er.
