Short Shameful Confession

When I get in my coupe and start out on the road, It doesn't feel like a sporty upscale japanese vehicle. The heavy door, and the initially slow 7gear-AT and V6 engine, makes me think I'm driving my grandma's buick, or some other big american car.
--- Edit:
Relax folks, the world's not going to end because the G37 is actually 'smooth' instead of abrupt like the Z. If I wanted to deal with a freak out by the slightest bit of comment that could possibly be considered 'criticism', I'd go talk with my wife instead of posting.
[hate the editor, it eats carrriage returns]

Although I do not share the exact sentiments of the OP, I can appreciate his criticism. I think they are a bit to the extreme, comparing the G to a Buick, but it is no secret that the G is not the sportiest of sporty cars out there. I understand what he's saying. That being said, OP, you didn't realize that when you purchased it?
I would be willing to bet that if you keyed in on precisely what it is about the car that disappoints you, you would be able to address it with relative ease. Of course, it's different for every driver. And I'm not suggesting that throwing money at the car in the form of aftermarket modification is going to make you 100% satisfied, either. I'm just trying to look at your criticism objectively. I don't know why the "heavy doors" is one specific you pinpointed, but most coupes (I'm making the assumption that is what you own?) have relatively heavy doors.
I realized after driving my G for a while that I was not incredibly impressed with the handling capabilities. Not awful, by any means, but it was not as tight and responsive as I would have liked. (Again, it is all relative. If someone buys a G after owning a Lincoln Town Car they would think the G handles flawlessly.) Anyway, I invested in some modifications that I thought would improve the handling performance of my car and I have never looked back. I now find myself looking forward to driving it all the time. Making these changes that I felt were necessary, it's a blast to drive.
It's unfortunate that you feel disappointed with your G, but things could definitely be worse... I mean, you could actually be driving Grandma's Skylark.
