How much does it cost everybody to fill up on gas?

Usually, I fill up at a half tank and it's somewhere around ~$30.

The other day I was riding completely on and I went to fill up on premium gas ($3.25/gal). My tank ended up being filled at ~$37.00 and at around 11 gallons which is completely strange.

Has this happened to anybody else before? Do I need to get my tank checked out?

Completely on empty? Completely on half tank? G37 tank is somewhere around 20 gallons, if your gauge was saying you were bone dry and you only filled 11 gallons, there might be an issue.

Depends on how much I have left on the tank. When I have about 1/4 left, I usually fill up with ~$45

Costs me nearly $54 to fill up when my light is on.

Damn you guys got some cheap gas on the mainland. Over here it's 3.65 for premium at Costco! Outside Costco is about 20 cents more. I don't wait til I'm bone dry, last time I filled up the trip computer said I had 70 more miles to go. I put on about 15 gallons. If your gauge said empty and it filled up with 11 gallons you should bring it in, there might be something wrong with the fuel gauge sender.

You think that's bad? While I was in Japan I got to experience 145 yen/L. At a 90 yen to dollar exchange rate and 3.75 L/gal, that works out to around $6.00 per gallon!

You need to understand that octane measurements are taken differently in different parts of the world. The US uses what's called AKI (Anti-Knock Index) which is two separate tests, RON (Research Octane Number) and MON (Motor Octane Number), and then divided by two. (RON+MON/2)
Japan only uses the RON for their measurements.

Take for example regular unleaded, or 87 AKI in the US.
The RON is around 91.5
The MON is around 82.5
So the AKI is 91.5+82.5/2=87 Octane
This is why Japan and other countries show higher octane numbers.

I knew this. When I said 100+ I meant AKI corrected. To my understanding Japan's gas is much better than ours.
