How about a bad wheel bearing; it will do it in one direction, but not the other.

This was fixed but the popping noise has returned. Told the dealer about it and I'm pretty much fed up with the amount of noise that emanates from within the car.

Can't wait until my lease is over or I find a buyer for this. Gorgeous car to look at, but at times, ridiculously horrible to drive without music on to drown out those sounds..

I also, have experienced the deep rubber rubbing/squeaking sound when doing deep left turns. Its not the tires and the sound is intermittent. Did the dealer tell you what the problem was and was it fixed under warranty?

Sorry guys, I really thought I had told you what the issue was. It was the brake pad heating cover/lining I think. It had supposedly bent when I was going over some really bad roads at a normal speed.

Service guy said it's common and could happen again if Athena is exposed to the same environment...
