The IPL isn't supposed to be "their fast car" it's just for someone who wants a little something more than the regular G. Lots of people are doing these mods anyways so it makes sense for Infiniti to offer a car that comes from the factory with them.

HUGE money? I wouldn't call it huge, its only 5 grand. If you are somebody who likes the interior changes (I do), upgraded wheel finish (I do) and sideskirts/bumpers (I dont) then it is fair money. Most people on here spend that much on appearance and exhaust, for some who want a factory fit and finish and warranty it may be worth it.
You do realize the GTR motor would require a 500hp-capable drivetrain (upgraded tranny, hardware, diff, axles, etc), fuel system, etc and add $20k to the price tag, not 5k, right?
I dont think many consumers are going to spend $65k on an IPL G37 when they could get an "elite" AWD GTR for $10-15k more. But they might and thats the next logical step. They are just testing the waters, it is what it is and its at least a step in teh right direction. As long as they quit marketing it as something its not I'm fine with them doin git....

I added smile at the end, sure GT-R engine might be lot for this car, but turbo charger not lot.
I wouldn't call it IPL (Inifiniti Performace Line) otherwise. Instead I would better call it IKL (Infiniti Kids Line)
Seriosly, i think it is time for Nissan to look on what BMW/Lexus/Audi does for their high preformance lines of cars.
If it is expensive to you don'd buy IPL, get regular G37 coupe.
