front windshield tints

is it illegal to have a solid limo tint or 15% on the top portion of the front windshield (you know the part that is indicate by the little line) or can you only have the factory style faded ones.

Where the blue is? Nah I've never seen them check that. 5% it if u want. Just as long as it doesn't come too low

yeah i dont know about the rules but i wouldnt do it. the blue kind of fades into the rest of the glass when it ends. the tint would cut off sharply and not look as good

In CA the tint on the front windshield is limited to the top 4" of the glass not to the AS1 mark on the glass. Not quite sure how far from the top the AS1 mark is on the G37 might be above that mark or below it so as long as you stick to the 4" you should be ok.

As far as what type of tint it does not matter, you could put solid black vinyl up there if you wanted too.
