Don't have to wind it out to get good power out of it. The G37 is not too much fun to drive on the street at legal speeds. The BMW has to much torque down low, it's just better to drive on a day to day basis.

I find it's hard to believe as well but I don't want to ruin his hope.

There is no/zero/ziltch/nada chance you can get a fully loaded 335x coupe for the same price as a fully loaded G37x coupe.. i don't care if your sleeping with the owner of the dealership and you have a retarded love child together, its is financially impossible. fully loaded, there is a $11,500 difference in price! $11,500!!! plus, Infiniti discounts their cars, BMW doesnt. I am a previous 2001 M3 owner, got it from close family friend and Owner of a BMW dealer, and there is only so much they can do...

really? The G is TONS of fun to drive as a DD on the street. I don't drive at legal speeds in any car that I've ever owned, so that is a non-issue. I usually hit 80 on the 45 MPH roads coming home from the base every day

Haha thanks gooddeal. I don't have any hopes really, it was just a question.
And to all those who are mentioning numbers.. I never said any numbers, and I said maybe. If I were to guess, it would be something like 10k off. But that's a total guess, I have no idea really...

Have to agree. Not possible. Sticker is about $10K more and even the dealer cost after the holdback is still about $4-5K more. If you could get it for about the same, I'd get the BMW. Drive both. You may like the G better and save some $.

Personally, I'd still stick with the G. Unless you're gunning it at every light, or tracking your car to the max, I'm not sure you'd feel the difference in terms of power. The differences in 0-60 is only a couple tenths. I recently drove a 2010 335i, and it didn't seem any faster to me. The interior didn't excite me at all in the BMW, and I much prefer the sexy lines of the G. The BMW seemed too "square" to me, and all their cars look too similar. Lastly, it seems to me that BMWs are quite common, and they just don't turn heads. I see them about as often as I see Civics.

I think what he is saying is the low end torque makes the BMW more fun as a DD. I would have to agree. My father in law purchased a 2011 (which I have driven multiple times) a few months before I bought my G and hitting max torque at 1200 rpm makes a huge difference. Still love the G and can't beat the value, but if all things were equal (i.e. Price) I would take the BMW.

OP: The answers you seem to be getting are from people who've either never owned a 335 or have never driven one for an extended period of time.
As a former owner of a 3, there is no comparison to my g35. Granted, the 37 has a little more hp than my engine, but the difference between the 3 and g is torque. Face it, the vq motor is gutless at low to mid rpms, where most of your daily driving occurs. Yes, it shines at higher rpms, but how often do you really get that high? Exactly.
Go drive both and decide for yourself. Even with a little time behind the wheel of a 3, you'll easily notice the difference between the two engines.
