MONDAY MORNING I WAS DRIVING ALONG with my 09 g37x coupe BY MY HOUSE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I PUSHED DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR WOULDNT ACCELERATE AND IT STARTED SHAKING...THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER... SEEMED AS THOUGH THE TIMING WAS OFF....A MISFIRE... PINGING.... MY SERVICE ENGINE SOON CAME ON THE DASH FLASHING AND I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF...I TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON AND IT SEEMED AS THOUGH IT WANTED TO SHUT OFF..I CALLED INFINITI AND THEY TOWED ME BACK TO MY DEALERSHIP.. YESTERDAY I GOT A CALL FROM THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAYING THAT AN INTAKE TIMING SPROCKET HAD BROKEN IN THE ENGINE CAUSING THIS.. THE ADVISOR SAID THAT THEY GET A COUPLE OF THESE SAME ISSUES EVERY FEW MONTHS. HE SAID I WOULD HAVE MY BACK THURSDAY POSSIBLY BUT TO CALL HIM AND TOUCH BASE BECAUSE THEY WERE ORDERING THE PART ON TUESDAY.

Wow that sucks man. Well hopefully they get it fixed for u man and hopefully it runs like brand spanking new lol. Let us know what the outcome is and if the car runs the same as when u bought it.

Is it under warranty?? Prob is, then why you so mad, you get the car back in a day or two. Chill bro.

Sh%t happens, sucks when it does but what can you do ... I don't think there is a car manufacturer in the world that never has issues with any of their cars. I know people read forums and think, "Oh my God, my car is a piece of crap". But as many have said, people only post problems and not, "My car is great and I have no issues today"

Keep us posted as to how it is after service, and please ....NO YELLING

apologies for the caps lock... they said it is under warranty... i have 7k miles on the car. it just stinks not having your car.. im assuming this may take a little more than 2-3 days since they have to remove the whole front of the engine to get to it the entire front of the motor has to come off…. All the accessories (ac compressor, power steering pump, water pump, oil pump) Both valve covers, and the timing covers. i hope it ll be the same... i mean its just a sprocket.
