Excellent Infiniti Dealership!! - No, really..

I own a 2008 Coupe that I recently had GTM's TT kit installed on. I went to the dealership after I drove it back from GTM to have the idle re-learned per Sam's reccomendation. They could not get it to re-learn and did not charge me for it. They were very impressed with the fit and quality of the GTM kit though and they kept complimenting me on the car.

A few days after, I noticed a whine coming from the transmission/clutch while in neutral and while going through 1-3rd gears. I suspected the TOB and searched on the forums and saw all the people getting thier whole tranny's replaced with the same symptoms. At this point, I was getting a bad feeling that my tranny is on it's way out and I am screwed due to the mods on the car. I called the same service advisor that I worked with on my last visit and told him the situation. He looked up my records, talked to his manager, and to my suprise, decided to warranty the clutch and tranny! He ordered it and I am going in next week to have them replaced.

This is at InfinitI of Kirkland in Kirkland, WA. I didn't even purchase my car from them and they are stepping up and taking care of me. Can't say enough how thankful I am that they are willing to work with me on this and stand behind thier products.

Just thought I would share a positive experience as all we normally see on here are horror stories.

If you want to get really depressed, look in your local classifieds. Sometimes the number of "Infinitys" for sale outnumber the "Infinitis" for sale.

i'm glad you have a decent dealership.

the guys at my dealership don't even know what an ITB is and wanna charge me for stuff that should be changed under warranty. i've only between twice, and they never check or fix the additional list of things i want them to change.

they even left the windows on the car open for almost a month. my black interior was complete white and sandy (live in a desert).

Yes his car is still technically under warrenty, however, many dealerships will use the presence of mods (especially serious performance mods like a TT kit) in an attempt to void your warrenty or turn down normally warrented work. (and yes we are all aware that they must "prove" your mod caused said damage before voiding your warrenty or refusing to do the work, but they get away that that crap all the time by just claiming some BS)

while your tranny is out you should definately throw on the OS GIKEN twin disc clutch setup. that's free labor right there.

I actually want to put whatever aftermarket clutch I get in myself so I am just going to wait until the new stock one burns out. Plus, it is almost winter and I mostly drive my truck then anyways.

well, the stock clutch won't hold the power you have. i can be sure you'll fry it in no time. i suggest you should throw on a aftermarket clutch while your tranny is out. you can be saving 500 + on labor!

Just a quick update -

Got the car back today and it runs great - nice and quiet and smooth. Also, they re-surfaced my warped rotors and installed the new baffles per the TSB all under warranty. I didn't bring up the rotors as I didn't want to push my luck, but the tech mentioned it when he was driving it to test the new tranny.

Best dealer experience i've had. Any one up in this area knows we only have two choices for an infinity dealership - and they are both owned by the same company. Good to know that they are run well and take care of thier customers.
