Wife ran over a truck recap and tore up underneath of car

Im sick and tired of all the damn truck recaps (retreads) lying on the freeways doing damage to our cars.

My wife ran one over today in her G37s and it got caught under and tore out the right side exhaust sensor and plastic belly pan took some damage. Luckily it tore it between the sensor and the plug and could quickly be fixed temporarily to get it running right. The right sensor wiring/plug is in a bad place under car with no protection and anything run over is gonna nail the plug and clip its on and pull it down. The plug/clip for the sensor needs to be moved and put on top of the angled metal frame piece so its not on the underside exposed to anything that comes under the car can nail it.

DOT needs to outlaw these POS recaps on trucks.

Yes its her car cause its too slow for me and doesnt handle like my cars. Its also an autowhich she likes and it has the paddle shifters which im sure will never get used. She likes it cause she says its a "pretty" car....

I drive a 800 rwhp supercharged Z06 and SHE DOES NOT DRIVE IT... and usually wont ride in it with me either cause I scare the living hell out of her when she does

I see more girls, ladies, females or whatever you call them () driving G35/G37 than guys. Of course my girl drives one too. "You can buy any cars you want, just give me your G35." So I went out and bought a G37.

Because semitrucks/18 wheelers have so many tires, replacing them when they're worn is very expensive. Recapping a truck tire is wrapping a piece of rubber around the existing tire with some sort of adhesive glue. A lot of times these "recaps" will fall off and wind up on the sides of the freeway or in the middle of the road. I know everyones seen them, but you probably just thought it was someones blown out tire.

His wife ran one over on the freeway, which is almost equivalent to running over a blown out tire laying in the middle of the road. On a lowered car that can mean ripping off a front lip or entire bumper so watch out for these!

I thought they were actually outlawed. People get killed by them all the time. Piece weighs about 50 pounds. If you were behind it and it came off, it could take your head off.

A lot of times when a brand new tire is worn down they get collected by these tire company and what they do is they cut out the threads and re thread them. For the most part they're not that reliable because companies don't do a good job re threading them and causing a lot if blowouts. You'll see more container trucks with flat or blow outs than others cuz that's what they use most of the time.
