I thought they were actually outlawed. People get killed by them all the time. Piece weighs about 50 pounds. If you were behind it and it came off, it could take your head off.
They are only outlawed on the front tires of the cab. Perfectly legal everywhere else. Those tires suck. One of the companies my dad drove for wouldn't put them on their trailers at all. They were afraid of trailer wrecks and losing loads. Those babies are evil.
Hate those things. I hit one the other day in the G, so I'll be replacing my front bumper and passenger side sill pretty soon. Luckily, it didn't do much damage to undercarriage.
Ooops....Yea it is a I....I knew that I guess but Y is the accepted spelling of that word so spellchecker didnt catch it for me. The auto maker spelled it wrong to be different I guess.....
