No key!!@!@!@!!!
owner of a new 2010 g37 coupe base in moonlight white and charcoal int
every once in a while it says "NO KEY" when i go to start it or if a passenger gets out it will flash occasionally.
this car is 1 month old there is no way the battery is low on the fobs. both fobs do this
i keep the key inside my jeans. granted they are raw jeans, they are not super thick. problem occurs more when the key is on the right pocket then on the left pocket.
if i am on the passenger seat it will say NO KEY if I am to say let my g/f drive my car.
pretty solid car otherwise. so far pretty happy. not m3 or cts coupe happy but maybe next time. wish i could have opted for some 19" wheels instead of the 18"
also can't believe the base doesn't come with a moonroof. a ****ign $36,000 car and no moonroof??? no ipod adapter??? stop nickle and diming us nissan!!!

hm never heard of that issue. i once left my keys in my trunk and was driving around. stopped at my destination and realized the keys werent in my pocket. i knew they were somewhere around the car and started looking all over. finally found them in my trunk net.
and yeah that sucks that you dont get a moonroof with the regular car. really with a luxury car it should be standard if the car isnt a convertible.. just like the leather seats are. but hey, you still get a lot of power for your buck.. no matter what the trim.

You have to purchase the premium, navigation and technology packages in order for the car to recognize that the key is inside. J/K.
Infiniti has packaged the most desirable options and required prerequisite packages to get other packages for a long time now. for example no technology package without premium and navigation. In general I think the days of a la carte options on cars are long gone with any manufacturer, it's just not efficient or cost effective.
But I've never had it not recognize the key in 2.5 year of having the car. Take it in to the dealership and replicate it.

pretty sure premium package wont give you a moonroof either
thats right for $35 grand it better come standard with a moonroof
****ing jettas, focus, civics, corollas and altimas come with it and they're $18 grand.
so do you guys think its because of my jeans or the side the key faces on my thigh?
when i flip the key over it seems to work better inside my pocket.
where is the sensor for this thing, maybe it has some dust on it or some****

plus the altima is nowhere near as nice as the G coupe on so many levels.
I'd be willing to own a 3.5 sr altima coupe if they were like $26-28 grand OTD with all the packages.

yeah haha i was looking at the altima 3.5sr initially thinking maybe i'll save a huge chunk of $$$ but to add leather you have to fully equip it for $32 grand and there is no way i'm driving an ugly *** altima for $32 grand when for another $3 grand I can step up to wealth status.

As far as the key, it should detect the fob inside the car no matter where it is or whether it's in your pocket or not. I think it has to be inside the vehicle and within 36" of the steering column. I think.

OK, she actually asked me to "hand down" Betty to her and suggested I get a GTR. Of course I'm not giving up Black Betty so that's out if the question.
For now she has a crappy Chevy Malibu company car so when she no longer has a company car we'll worry about that then.

Your key fob ... do you have your cell phone near it? I've heard the cell phone can interfere with the signal being sent to the car computer.
Just a thought. (I have experienced "low battery" warning light when I have the keys right next to my cell phone)
