hey i usually have the key in my purse and never had a problem.
but just the other day, when my boyfriend had the key in his jeans pocket, the same thing happened to us! he was sitting in the passenger seat, and i was trying to turn the car on and it said no key...
NEVER happened when i was in the passenger seat with the key in my bag.

when it happened to me, hitting the start button again didn't work. it would just say no key. even after the bf took out the key from his jeans pocket, still said no key, and then an animation came up to tell me to put the key in that key holder thing on the left side... then it worked.

This just happened to me twice this week. Just shifted the key in my pocket, and all was well.

Replace your BCM

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would post this to help anyone out having the same issues. It was driving me bananas. I had this same problem a few times a week for a while and had to have the BCM replaced on my car replaced on my car at the dealership, after taking it in for it three times.

This has happened to me quite often. I was told that these intelli keys are extremely sensitive to other metal ergo keys, rings and keychains.

Usually what works for me is just giggling the keys in my pocket a little and there's usually no problem. I will definitely check with the dealer about the BCM though. Thanks

Why not just shove the key into the key slot?

Who actually wants to take the key out of their pocket?

It means jeans that have not been preshrunk/prewashed before sale. Raw jeans are much stiffer thank your avg pair of jeans.

My trunk won't shut if the key is in it. Your car just doesn't like you letting someone else drive.
