I went with the base factory coverage. At 4 years, if I still have the car, I'll decide. If I recall, you can even buy the factory coverage anytime during the first 4 years? I've noticed some infiniti dealers selling the factory coverage online at a discount. I think the Infiniti Elite was under 2K.

Warranty companies make money because they know the mean time between failure for components, the cost to replace them, and the average miles put on a car. They put it all together and know what to charge to make a nice profit.
So, chances are you will not get your money back. If you're looking for piece of mind buy the warranty.
Alternatively, if you have some discipline, you could put the money aside every month so that at the end of the factory warranty you'll have a nice rainy day fund.

I would consider an extended warranty on an Infiniti to be a waste of money. The odds of you paying out more money for repairs then what you paid for the warranty is pretty slim.
You also need to find out exactly what the warranty will and will not cover.
On certain car brands it would make more sense.
On BMWs it's definitely a necessity to have an extended warranty.

Warranties, Insurance, Service Plans, etc. They make people careless IMO. I didn't buy the warranty for quite a bit of reasons...
1. I have a 2010. All the kinks have been worked out from the previous MYs. I never buy the first year of a new generation car anymore. I've gotten burned being an early adopter, so I let others test the waters.
2. I've taken multiple vehicles well over 100k, one to even 200k miles. Never had any major issue total the price of the warranty, and I do most everything myself.
3. Warranties aren't designed to work in your favor. At worst, the company selling it to you will break even. You on the other hand, will lose $ for peace of mind.
I bought a 50 inch Samsung TV today. This is my 4th Samsung flat panel in my house. The idiot sales guy gave a bunch of silly reasons to buy an extended warranty. Meanwhile, I've taken one of the four Sammy's I own to Iraq and back through dust storms and stupid hot days. It never quit. So what's the f'n point of buying a warranty for it?
I hate to rant, but people find all kinds of ways to dig into the pockets of consumers after they've spent a ton of $ in the first place. After $40,900, Infiniti wasn't getting another dime of my hard earned $ if I could help it.

I just purchased my car, and found out Infiniti gives a 4 year 60k factory warranty, When I purchased my car i bought the extended warranty that gives me 6 years 100k worth of coverage......but paid a whooping $1975 for it!
I have the option of canceling it and getting a refund...... what do you guys think? worth keeping? dump it? seems silly to me to have double coverage
btw my car is a 2008 with 20k miles on it.
Thanks everyone!
