No thanks...keep the DI until they find a way to make it work right. There are so many carbon build-up issues with DI cars these days. It's ridiculous to see the heavy carbon fouling on the intake valves of cars with just 30,000 miles on them. I'm sure they'll re-engineer the DI systems to eliminate the problems eventually, but for now I'm glad to see that the VQ doesn't have DI.

Seems counterintuitive to have a SPORT / AWD package….. cause even if you have AWD the summer tires are going to make it handle like crap in the snow. just my 2 cents

AWD cars with sport package dont get summer tires, they get all-seasons

Im pissed, I had a feeling this was gunna happen, i just got my car! i knew 2011 would have facelift changes....but i didnt expect the AWD to get Sport...that was one of the biggest things for me

w/e i still like my car, only very little buyers remorse, i could have probably held out depending on when the first shipment arrived.....i wonder what lapis blue will look like.

All the info I've read says that the 2010+ screen is higher resolution than the 2007 - 2009 screen. A simple software upgrade won't give you the same look and feel of the 2010+ screen if that's the case.

I'd be amazed if that were true. For the A2DP capability alone I'd pay $300.

That's good info. I've read that Direct Injection is a much more complex process. I wonder if Porsche has solved the issues you mentiion for their new DI engines? I have been considering moving up to an 09' Porsche Carrera that has the DI engine, but now I'm wondering if I should reconsider. Have you heard anything specific about the Porsche in this regard?

I've heard that some Porsche engines are apparently more susceptible than others, but most are not as bad as Audi. Here's a link to a Porsche forum thread about carbon build-up due to DI:

Maybe DFI is not a good buy -

BMW is also having a lot of failures with their high-pressure fuel pumps, which are required in DI engines. There's a lot of buzz about the high rate of failure on their message forums.

I think Acura is maybe the only manufacturer who got DI right. I rarely hear about any problems on their DI cars.

I posted a separate string on this that was moved. The only update available is a standard maps update only, and it does cost around $300, depending on what your dealer charges to flip a switch.

The other kind of update will cost you something in the vicinity of $40,000.
