How many miles did you put on your G37 so far?
#61
The car has taken a few trips from NJ to SE Florida and I drive about 100+ miles a day to and from work. Besides other normal driving around.
Had the ECU reflashed for the hard shift, exhaust replaced for the rattle and the heat shields of the rotors were replaced. All were identified in TSBs and taken care of. I will break up further problems into the following groups:
1. Infinitis fault - Along with the aforementioned issues small things like sunroof squeak from the gasket being dirty and rubbing the metal, which is resolved by normal frequent cleanings of the gasket. The time elapsed on a music source will freeze and not move, but only once in a blue moon. Other than that nothing.
2. Life/karma/**** luck - Had someone bump me in a lot when I wasn't present. No major damage other than slight mark in rear fascia. Went around a bend a little to fast on newly fallen snow and right rear lower control arm got bent and then replaced along with the tire and wheel. (Side note: Continental Extreme Contact DWS are the BEST AS tires I have ever used. IMHO blew my Michilen Pilot AS out of the water. I drive 80-85 in rain and have never started to feel the slightest bit of hydroplaning. Sick grip in light snow too). NJ roads lead to inevitable bent rims if you drive enough.
But, the grand daddy of them all has to be what happened last week. In short, business trip into Connecticut, stayed at a Hamptons in with many other business people and woke up to my car on paint cans with the wheels and tires MISSING. On FVCKING paint cans! If I knew how to post pics I would post one because no one has seen their G like I saw mine
All in all I drive my cars. I have a great stereo system and I love to drive so I put miles on it. And I plan to keep this and mod it with FI and upgrade suspension, long block, tranny etc when that time comes. My car was bought in Oct 2007 and it's one of the first ones. Besides the original problems that they knew about the car has been rock solid and I look forward to trying to take it to 200K relatively problem free.
