You pretty much answered your own question.

legitimate TS stuff is definitely super high quality, but with that comes the price tag, which you know.

the AIT is a fine kit but takes some work to make it fit right, so you can't really take it out of the box and expect to be driving with it w/o a body shop doing some decent work to get it to fit.

the price and fitment are the two major differences

I have seen AIT kits with no work done, just paint and install. Looked good, can't really see any defects if there's any. I have the same kit but I had more work done on it to make it perfect, including custom brackets on the bottom to really secure it down. I also had the surface block-sanded so it's smooth, to take out any small bumps/dips. Either way is fine, just depends if you can find a good shop that can do the work and how much money you want to throw at it to make it perfect.

If you're in So Cal, I can give you the shop's contact info.

So does it mean that if i get the real TS kit, i can install it myself without having to go to a body shop to do something to make it fit?
I am curious about the fitment of the real stuff as well.

I'm holding off on sides because I don't want fitment issues on side skirts and Real TS sides are $$$ so I'm gonna wait to save an buy the real deal and just have piece of mind ...

So, other than paint itself, the real TS fits perfect?

I don't believe that real TS is a perfect fit. It needs to be painted as well. So for the amount of money, you be the judge.
