ticK tiCK tICK TICK!

so i finished painting my calipers two days ago and just today i began hearing ticking from my drivers side back wheel as i was driving back home. i got out and saw a lug nut was not just loose but was spinning. i tightened it up fully and the ticking went away. a few hours later i was coming home from my girlfriend's house and i heard the same sound, but couldnt make out if it was the driver's side front wheel or back wheel. i got out of my car again and went around tightening every bolt, but this time all of them were tight.. now i dont know what caused that ticking sound and its bothering me. drove it a few miles after the second tightening and couldnt hear it, but the fact that it was ticking even though the lug nuts were tight is causing me tension. any ideas guys?

Check for a rock or something stuck in your tire tread.

will do in the morning, i really hope its only a rock or something although i will feel pretty stupid. you dont think i broke anything right? the first time i heard the sound, and checked, one of the lug nuts was spinning. i took it off and the part where the lug screws in was also really loose, like i could spin that too. after tightening it alot i didnt have that problem though.
