How to remove empty bay button?
Hey everyone,
I'm planning on putting a switch in the empty bay/button area to the right of hood latch. It looks just like the AFS and Trunk button. Does anyone know how I can remove this to make adjustments?
Thanks

I put my RBC-1 **** there. There's a crap load of plastic backing on the blank slot...Was definitely a b1tch dremeling the **** outta it to custom fit the ****, but it was worth it.
From memory...
Open the driver's door and pull off the panel that is between the door and the left side of the dashboard. Use a socket to unscrew the two bolts that hold the hood release. Pull down on the sides of the lower dash. It should lower the dash low enough for you to reach the screws that holds the entire bracket for all three switches. Remember to unplug the electric connections.

Thanks for the info but I was referring the the blank slot below the 3. The one that sits there alone next to the hood release. Or would this method work for that too?

Ahhh...My bad, misread. Method should still work to give you access to that blank slot as it is surrounded by the lower dash.

U still need to pull down the under tray a bit to access that blank. After it's pulled off, unplugg the harness then unscrew the 3 Phillips holding the trunk release assembly then you'll have to use a small screw driver to pop it out. It only comes out from behind and it'll only go back in one way

New method
Old thread but Im installing fog lights on my 08 g35x vq35hr , these stock don’t have the fog lights like the g37, but when looking at the Empty button feature I looked under and noticed that it has a bolt and a clip holding it and you can access it from underneath by removing the obd port , it has 2 bolts holding it , then move it out the way to remove the button , no need to cut the button out or remove the bracket
