drive it like you stole it.. oh and if youre into techno/electro/trance kinda music, there is a song called 'drive it like you stole it' by the glitch mob. it was used in an america's got talent video on youtube. pretty good song and an amazing act if youre bored and want to check it out

I was easy on it for about 50 miles and then could not hold it in anymore, if it was not a lease then I would care more, I have about 500 miles on it now and still get on it every now and then. I plan on getting the 2013 when it comes out after my lease is up.

HA! joke is on him because guys like us lease em for $350/mo then molest them for about 30-45k miles, often times damage or neglect them. then guys like him him buy em for $25 grand and deal with all the maintenance, repairs and gremlins that come from a car that's been repaired and abused.

plus you can get a g37S loaded minus nav now for about $38,000 (MSRP of $43-44k) my stealership tried to get me to buy one in some generic gray color and was willing to "lose money" and sell it "today" for "under 38,000" so i imagine if I was interested i could have got it for $37g easy because the sales guy never gives up the real cap cost right away plus those $3500 coupe end of the year incentives are probably already being given out to dealers today.

now 3 years later the 08s are selling for about $25k. Doesn't sound like "half price" to me.

clearly the engineers and R&D specialists over at Nissan/Infiniti have NOOOO idea what they are talking about when they write up the "breaking in" procedure in the manual...I mean you obviously know more about mechanical engineering then they do? No reason to listen keep it within the revs required for the miles listed is there? You're smarter than some asian with more degrees than you and that has been doing this for a living for longer than you've been alive. Arent you?

i agree that you should take it easy for the first 1000-1500 miles so all the gaskets and moving parts can properly adjust to the pressures of every day driving.

but if about 80% of infiniti sales are leases, do you really think those people are going to care?

Has more to do with Nissan/Infiniti covering their own butts.

Lawyers > engineers, when it comes to stuff like this.

You can beat on the car all you want, as long as you do regular maintenance.

25k today is less than 25k in 08. The car effectively depreciated nearly 50%. Keep in mind you should be comparing retail vs retail, or wholesale vs whole, or market value vs market value. 50% of the original value in 3 years is pretty damn good.
